MONTGOMERY COUNTY EYES NEW $250 MILLION COURTHOUSE

🏗️ Montgomery County is moving forward with plans for a new seven story courthouse in downtown Conroe. Commissioners approved the search for an architect for the project, which is expected to cost about $250 million and would also include space for a new tax office.

County leaders say the current courthouse has serious problems, including mold, rats, structural issues, and not enough room for the county’s growing caseload. While funding has not been decided, officials say the need for more space can no longer wait.

The move still needs league approval, and the team will play one more season in Connecticut first. But for Houston, this could mark the return of a franchise that once won the WNBA’s first four championships and helped shape the league’s early history.
