INTRO

📣 Big win for Houston Dynamo 2. The club just picked up league honors after a strong 4-1 road result, and it is the kind of momentum we all love to see. A good reminder for the rest of us too: when you know what matters most, attack that first and build the day around winning that one thing.

HOUSTON WORLD CUP PLANS FOR HEAT WITH SHADE AND COOLING

Houston’s World Cup matches may be played indoors, but heat is still a big part of the story. Six of the city’s seven matches will start at noon, so NRG Stadium’s roof will stay closed to keep players and fans at 72 degrees. Around the city, organizers are also planning for the long, hot summer ahead.

The Fan Festival in East Downtown will have shade, air-conditioned spaces, free water stations, cooling stations, and on-site medical care. Other groups are adding shaded walkways and cooler public spaces as Houston gets ready to welcome hundreds of thousands of fans next month.

PEARLAND POLICE SAY GYM LOCKER THEFT SCHEME HIT HOUSTON AREA

Pearland police say a Pearland man may have spent months stealing credit cards from gym lockers across the Houston area. Investigators say the scheme hit LA Fitness and EOS Fitness locations in Pearland, League City, Webster, Spring, and Houston, with nine victims identified so far and possibly more still out there.

Police say the stolen cards were later used to buy gift cards at H-E-B. Investigators are asking anyone who may have been affected to call the Pearland Police tip line at 281-997-4211. They also want gym members to check their wallets right away after workouts so missing items can be reported quickly.
