LONE STAR THROWDOWN WEEKEND LEADS TO 90 ARRESTS IN CONROE
🛻 The Lone Star Throwdown packed Conroe with truck fans all weekend, but police were ready. A special task force made 90 arrests during the three-day event, which is one of the largest truck shows in the country.
More than 125 officers worked together each night as part of Operation Zero Traction. Most of the arrests were tied to narcotics and drunk driving, and officials say the strong police presence helped keep things under control with no deaths and no reports of thefts, burglaries, or parking lot takeovers.

MAJOR HOUSTON FREEWAY PROJECTS DRIVERS WILL SEE IN 2026
🚙 Anyone who drives around Houston knows the cones and lane shifts are everywhere right now. Transportation leaders say several big freeway projects are moving forward, and some of them will take years before drivers see the final results.
Here are a few of the projects now underway or in planning:
Interstate 45 expansion between Texas City Wye and the Galveston Causeway
Replacement of the Ship Channel Bridge
Elevating Interstate 10 near White Oak Bayou to reduce flooding
Grand Parkway Segment B between League City and Alvin
The long-term rebuild of Interstate 45 through central Houston
Until then, commuters should plan for slowdowns and closures as the work continues across the region.
