CONROE AREA NEWS
Heavy Rain Risk Continues in Conroe This Weekend

🌧️ Conroe and nearby areas could see a wet start to the holiday weekend. The Conroe Fire Department shared that multiple rounds of showers and storms are expected across Southeast Texas through Monday, with locally heavy rain possible.
Conroe may receive 4-6 inches of rain, with isolated higher amounts possible. The main concern is street flooding, runoff, and rising water in rivers and creeks. Stay weather aware, watch forecast updates, and never drive through flooded roads.

Conroe Officer Steps In Fast During Bridge Attack
⭐ A 69-year-old San Jacinto County woman says a quick police response helped save her life after she was attacked while protesting on Conroe’s North Loop 336 bridge Sunday morning. Patty Anderson had notified police of her plans, and an officer was nearby when the attack happened.
Anderson suffered facial injuries, including a broken nose, but was released from the hospital the next day. She credited the officer who stepped in, the other officers who responded, and the woman officer who stayed with her during treatment. She is now recovering at home.

Police said the packages contained cocaine and will be submitted for destruction. While unusual to see, officials said this kind of discovery is not all that uncommon. Beachgoers are asked not to touch any unknown packages and to call Galveston police dispatch at 409-765-3702.
