⭐ Attention: Small Business Advertisers

You may have noticed that we have been testing advertising. I’ve been using my bookkeeping business as the guinea pig and visits to its website have significantly increased.

We will be selecting a few local small business advertisers to receive a considerable amount of free advertising in multiple issues of one to four of our local newsletters (Houston, Conroe, Pearland, Sugar Land).

The free advertising will be a combination of story-style ads with a photo and internet links, and digital banner-type ads with a couple supporting sentences about your business and internet links. If you have a local small business, let’s have a conversation. You can email us at [email protected].

We are specifically looking for the following types of local small businesses:

  • Personal Injury Attorney

  • Insurance Agent / Agency

  • Junk Removal

  • HVAC

  • Landscaping

  • Financial Advisory or Wealth Management

  • Real Estate Agency

  • Dental Group

  • Primary Care Group

CONROE AREA NEWS

Conroe Police Launch Drone Safety Program

πŸ›Έ The Conroe Police Department has officially launched its brand new Drone First Responder initiative to provide real-time aerial intelligence. Authorized by Chief Jon Buckholtz following a city council vote, the department purchased two American-made Skydio X10 drones and two docking stations.

This entire public safety program is funded fully using seized criminal assets rather than local taxpayer dollars. Certified drone pilots will remotely deploy the aircraft to arrive on scene before patrol officers. The technology improves response times, supports search and rescue operations, and offers crucial aerial views to help the Conroe Fire Department during emergencies.

Rock the Row Concerts Return This Summer

🎸 The Woodlands Township has announced the return of the popular Rock the Row outdoor summer concert series. Music lovers are invited to relax along the scenic shoreline of Lake Woodlands at Hughes Landing. The free performances will take place on Thursday evenings starting on July ninth.

Audiences can look forward to a diverse lineup featuring local and regional bands performing soul, funk, pop, and Latin music. Guests are encouraged to bring their own blankets and lawn chairs to enjoy the entertainment comfortably. The series is sponsored by Howard Hughes and Houston Methodist.

AROUND THE METRO

Houstonians Gather Emergency Relief Material

πŸ“¦ Local relief organizers are collecting massive donations to support international earthquake victims following disasters near Caracas. Multiple drop-off sites are open across the metro area to accept clothing and blankets.

You can drop off items at the Pa Que La Negra food truck located on Highway 6 North in Houston. Volunteers are also collecting bottled water, shelf-stable food, and hygiene products through the upcoming weekend. All collected supplies will be packed and shipped directly to affected families by Monday.

Advocacy Group Monitors Post Fire Air Quality

🌬️ Clean air advocacy monitors recently detected elevated pollution levels following a massive recycling yard fire in Houston. Members of Air Alliance Houston reported high peaks of fine particulate matter up to four miles downwind from the site. The large industrial fire involved stacks of tires and debris that burned for over twenty-four hours before containment.

While public health officials have reported no major illnesses so far, researchers are pressing for detailed environmental safety data. Experts urge local residents to remain cautious regarding respiratory health risks near industrial corridors.

BUSINESS UPDATE

Montgomery County Secures Massive Wealth Influx

πŸ’Ό A new financial analysis has revealed that billions of dollars in earning power are moving into the local area. Data from the Internal Revenue Service shows that Montgomery County gained over eight thousand net new tax filers in a single year.

This significant population boom brought an additional $845 million in total wealth into the community. The spectacular financial gain ranks as the third-highest net increase nationwide. Analysts note that this rapid expansion creates positive economic momentum and boosts local commercial activity across our growing neighborhoods.

City Financial Outlook Reaches Stable Status

πŸ“ˆ S&P Global Ratings has officially revised the general obligation debt rating outlook for Houston from negative to stable. Financial analysts affirmed the city's AA rating based on proactive budget stabilization efforts for fiscal year 2027.

This positive shift follows substantial progress by city leadership to narrow the budget gap caused by rising public safety expenses. The updated forecast highlights a restored budget stabilization fund that was heavily drawn down after Hurricane Beryl. S&P expects the expanding local economy to help secure city reserves moving forward.
